Job summary As part of the recruitment process the assessment centre and interviews will take place between 25/27 March 2025 Our Council of Governors is looking to appoint two Non-Executive Directors to join our Board of Directors. Working as part of a unitary board, this is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidates to share their talent and expertise and to make a positive different to the lives of the people we serve. We are seeking one Non-Executive Director with substantial experience of human resources and change management, and another with a finance or audit background. Our values underpin everything we do at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS FT and successful candidates will be required to demonstrate their alignment with those values. Successful candidates will also need to demonstrate their alignment with the NHS Leadership Competency Framework for Board Members published by NHS England. We know that the best bords are those that reflect the workforce and communities they serve. We particularly welcome applications from people from local black, Asian and minority ethnic communities and people with disabilities, who we know are all under-represented in these important roles. Main duties of the job Non-Executive Directors work as part of the Board of Directors to determine our strategic aims and objectives and in ensuring that the necessary quality, financial and workforce plans are in place so that we can meet our objectives and effectively monitor our performance. To do this, a good working relationship with our Council of Governors is essential and an ability to collaborate whilst recognising the uniquely independent Non-Executive Director role will be crucial. The successful candidates will be involved in committees established by the board and may be asked to chair such committees; seeking assurance on behalf of the board on areas within the committee's purview.
