About the Role:
This position involves working as part of the Manufacturing Engineering Team and taking ownership of site toolmaking and refurbishment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Using tools, equipment, and machinery to interpret and work to engineering drawings within required tolerances
* Servicing and repair of site tooling and fixtures
* Rectification of production components/equipment
* Ownership of the Master Tooling Register and responsibility for reporting tooling status
* Housekeeping of tooling and racking identification
* Management of external tooling repairs and logistics with sub-contractors
* Oversight of new tooling procurement
* Assisting with Manufacturing Engineering projects
Requirements:
* An Apprenticeship (or equivalent practical training)
* Minimum of HNC (or equivalent engineering qualification)
* Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
* Ability to be proactive and work with initiative
* Proficient in the use of all toolroom machinery and hand tools
* Experience in adhering to accurate tolerances with different materials
* Ability to produce engineering drawings and use precise measuring equipment
* Proficient in MS Office – including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
* Ability to work in a responsible manner in terms of Health and Safety
* Excellent communication skills
* Welding ability, the use of CAD, and CNC machining ability would be a distinct advantage
