Carbon60 is working with a well-known electric company based in Lisburn in Northern Ireland, for a Mechatronic/ Design Engineer. The role is on a long-term contract.
Summary of Mechatronic/ Design Engineer Role:
The role will be working on all aspects of Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineering from design to testing, and certification. As well as supporting the global supply chain to sustain and improve manufacturing/supplier processes.
Responsibilities:
1. Support a variety of projects across the business.
2. Develop Mechanical Designs using CAD modelling.
3. Proven experience in complex mechanical/electrical systems.
4. Competency in designing machined metal & sheet metal parts.
5. 'Hands on' approach to design & testing (ability to assemble and modify prototypes etc.).
Minimum Requirements:
1. Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical/Mechatronics (or equivalent with experience).
Desirable Requirements:
1. Experience working in the power/utilities industry.
2. Knowledge of Hydraulic/Pneumatic control Systems.
3. Experience using FMEA, RCA, 8D tools.
4. Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
5. CAD experience - Solidworks and/or AutoCAD.
