Milton Keynes College Prison Services Team at HMP Erlestoke are seeking efficient and flexible individuals to help support their education provision. You will be a team player, with a high standard of verbal and written communication. There are various duties for non-teaching staff, vital to supporting the learners to achieve and the staff to meet their expected delivery. Working patterns we can consider- part time hours or partial weeks – but are restricted by the prison regime to a certain degree. We need you to be able to work a full morning or afternoon session or full days, albeit if not 5 days a week (Education finish at lunchtime on a Friday so that is always a half day) Morning sessions are 08:00 – 12:15 (Mon-Fri) Afternoon sessions are 13:30-17:00 (Mon-Thurs) Full days would be 08:00-17:00 (Mon-Thurs) MK College will treat all applicants fairly and with respect, irrespective of their background, disability or any other individual characteristic. ABOUT HMP Erlestoke… HMP Erlestoke is a Category C prison, holding approximately 444 adult male sentenced offenders. Built on the grounds of Erlestoke Manor and has expanded in both offender numbers and intervention programmes. HMP Erlestoke’s focus is fixed on reducing re-offending and preventing future victims of crime by preparing offenders for their release through accredited intervention programmes, skill and vocational based training and education, in a pro social environment. Courses at HMP Erlestoke include Maths, English, IT, Horticulture, Carpentry, Cleaning, Cookery, Creative Craft, Personal and Development Skills and much more. The education hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 11.15am, 1.45pm – 4.45pm Fridays 8.30am – 11.15am. Involved with projects including “Reading Ahead” where Erlestoke have achieved a double gold award for over 500 completions. As well as participating with the “Inside Out” project and “Chain Gang” creative writing class. HMP Erlestoke achieved “Good” in their most recent Ofsted inspection.
