Bransty Primary School is a Community School for girls and boys of 3 to 11. It was opened in 1931 to serve the housing being built around it. There are 218 children currently on roll which include 13 in our school Nursery. We are looking for an individual with good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and carers to join the team as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and are seeking hands on experience in teaching environments. The ideal candidate will possess patience, empathy and good organisation skills. Key responsibilities Under the supervision of teachers/senior staff, undertake a range of varies tasks to support teaching, learning and care by working with individuals or small groups of pupils. Tasks may include working with children with specific medical needs on a one to one basis. Key tasks will include: Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupil's responses. Support the teacher in monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress and behaviour in order to contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning activities Provide feedback to pupils under the guidance of the teacher Support learning by arranging/providing resources for lessons/activities under the direction of the teacher Support pupils' social, emotional and physical wellbeing, reporting concerns to the appropriate person Cover for breakfast and afterschool club provision as and where required Hours of work 35 hours per week. Monday - Friday : 08:30am-3:15pm plus Breakfast and after school club Rate of pay £6.40 per hour Qualifications Maths and English at Grade 4 or above or functional skills Benefits
