As the Deputy Designated Professional for All-Age Safeguarding, you will work closely with the Designated Nurse for Safeguarding Children and Designated Nurse/Professional for Safeguarding Adults to deliver the strategic work programme for the ICB Safeguarding Team. Your role will involve taking a system wide approach to drive collaborative and collective change across the system multi-agency and across NHS-funded services. You will provide group supervision to Named Professionals across the BSW system and manage ICB specialist practitioners within the three ICB localities. As an experienced leader, you will line manage a small team and take responsibility for recruiting, inducting, supervising, coaching and developing team members. You will deputise for the Designated Nurse/Professional regularly at both internal and external partnership meetings. You would be expected to demonstrate level 5 competencies applying the associated knowledge, skills and behaviour whilst representing the ICB and the wider Health system as a Deputy Designate. In this strategic leadership role, you will confidently chair and lead local and regional subgroups for safeguarding arrangements, aiming to drive improvements in the quality of care and safeguarding practice. You will lead quality improvement projects applying a structured change management approach and methodology for the impact of change. Using your safeguarding expertise, you will contribute to statutory safeguarding reviews and oversee the learning from these reviews for children, young people and adults. As part of the ICBs system safeguarding expert, you will provide expert safeguarding advice to our partners around individual patients/cases when required. Given the nature of this role, you will deal with highly confidential, sensitive, and distressing information about children, young people, adults with care and support needs and vulnerable populations.
