* If so, you may have the qualities we are looking for to become our new Social Care Officer within the Gleneagles Day Opportunities Team!
* Due to high demand for our services, we are looking for you to join us in working as part of a vibrant and positive team who provide Day Opportunities for Adults with learning disabilities.
* You will support and enable individuals to access and participate in a variety of group activities within community and building based settings to work towards their identified outcomes.
Can you communicate effectively to build relationships with service users, families, colleagues and other internal/external agencies to ensure a quality care provision?
* If so, you should have experience of working with vulnerable adults who have learning and/or physical disabilities, autism spectrum conditions and other varied needs.
* You should have excellent communication skills which will enable you to communicate effectively with service users, their families, your colleagues and other internal and external agencies.
* It would desirable that you have some knowledge of alternative communication methods suitable to this setting.
* You will be required to support individuals with varied needs including potentially supporting stressed/distressed behaviours and intimate personal care needs.
Do you have the ability to manage your own workload, prioritise, and problem solve?
* If so, as a Social Care Officer you will be responsible for undertaking link worker duties which includes file maintenance, co-ordinating and chairing reviews, formulating and developing personal plans to meet specified and future outcomes.
* You should have good digital skills to operate relevant electronic systems to carry out the above tasks, whilst ensuring the integrity of data and appropriate security.
Do you have the ability to identify, manage and mitigate potential risks to self and others, by applying existing guidelines, seeking advice when required?
* If so, you should have an awareness of general workplace health and safety requirements.
* You may have to carry out handling and moving, CALM Physical intervention or First Aid tasks as a part of this role, and training will be provided.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am -3:00pm. We are happy to discuss the hours of work to promote flexibility and work life balance providing the needs of the service are met., A full UK driving license and the ability to drive Perth and Kinross Council vehicles is essential for this post, as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross. An SVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or a higher/equivalent qualification with relevant work experience is desirable but not essential for this post.
