Patch Area: Croydon/Bromley/Sutton
Hybrid working (1-3 days onsite and in the office, dependant on business requirements)
Salary - £37,753.00
Reports to: Neighbourhood Services Manager

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, knowledgeable Homeowner Officer, who is a customer focused person to join our Neighbourhood services team in the role of Homeowner Officer working out of our new office space in Croydon. We aspire to build more quality homes and continue to have a positive impact on the local communities in which we operate. Our focus is on ensuring that our residents are happy and safe in their homes.
About us Founded as Croydon Churches Housing Association, ccha is a social housing provider with a focus on quality homes and excellent customer care. We have over 1600 homes across 3 London Boroughs, Croydon, Sutton & Bromley. We provide a variety of homes including social housing, Shared Ownership and outright sales.

What we are looking for in a Homeowner Officer: The Homeowner Officer is responsible for managing relationships with leaseholders, shared owners, and freeholders, ensuring high standards of service and maintaining strong communication. This role includes overseeing the delivery of services to homeowners, managing service charges, responding to queries, and ensuring compliance with relevant housing legislation and policies. The Homeowner Officer will work closely with Property Services and Development team and external contractors to provide an efficient and responsive service to all homeowners. This is high customer service focused role where building relationships with residents in line with ccha values is essential.
Essential requirements:
Full UK Driving license
Access to a vehicle and business use insurance
DBS check (valid within 6 months)
You will need to demonstrate
Good working knowledge of Homeowner products such as Leasehold, Shared Ownership, Resales, Staircasing and responding to tenancy issues.
You can proactively manage a Homeownership patch, visiting schemes to ensure they are well managed and maintained.
You can prepare written documentation to be sent to our residents, so experience of letter/report writing is essential.
Experience in housing management, leasehold services, or a related field within the social housing sector.
Strong understanding of leaseholder and shared ownership policies, service charges, and relevant housing legislation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

A good understanding of variable service charge provisions and practices.
Experience of managing a large and varied workload and meeting performance targets.
Experience of working with shared owners and leaseholders.
Ability to implement good Neighbourhood and estate management practices including health and safety compliance.
Ability to read, interpret, apply and explain leases and title documents.
Excellent communication and customer service standards and delivery.
Accountability and taking ownership of your work areas.
Excellent standard of numeracy, literacy and competent IT skills.
Able to present information clearly, systematically, and accurately.
Ability to use own initiative and apply sound judgement and make decisions.
