ABOUT SPECIALIST FACTUAL PRODUCTIONS
Specialist Factual Productions is the home of high quality, thought-provoking and award-winning factual television. It's an exciting time to join BBC Studios Productions - we are currently in production with Sky; the BBC, PBS, Channel 4, Discovery, National Geographic, Netflix, Apple TV and Migu.
We are launching an initiative to give experienced Series Producers, based in Glasgow, an opportunity to step-up to an Executive Producer level in Specialist Factual Productions.
They will be supported by a team of established Executive Producers and receive extensive on-the-job training. They will be working to the Creative Director and Genre Head.
THE ROLE
* The prime responsibility of the role will be to manage the successful output and delivery of the department's commissioned portfolio.
* Generating award-winning, popular and channel-defining output.
* Bringing projects in compliant, on schedule and on budget.
* Manage a diverse team of people, encouraging the flow of ideas and an open culture where teams can do their best work. You will be responsible for increasing inclusion on- and off-screen.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
* Extensive recent TV broadcast editorial experience at Series Producer level, specifically across Documentaries and specialist factual programming.
* A current track record of shaping and delivering premium content series with major broadcasters, including (but not limited to) the BBC, Sky, Channel 4, and major SVoDs e.g. Disney +, Apple, Netflix, National Geographic and Discovery.
* A current, established network of commissioner relationships across a breadth of broadcasters and platforms.
* Extensive recent experience of leading and inspiring production teams in a multi-platform environment and an ability to demonstrate strong managerial skills and positive behaviours.
* Effective planning and organising skills with the ability to concentrate on several areas of work at one time, prioritising, delivering consistently to deadlines and reacting positively to changes and conflicting priorities.
* Proven senior-level experience in financial and budget planning/responsibility, working closely with production management teams to keep multiple and complex shows within budget, along with a demonstrable ability to provide strong editorial judgement in a fast-moving environment.
* Current experience of managing on-screen talent.
* Ability to shape archive led retrospective stories as well as constructed format series.

Salary: £54,600 - £90,900 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights
