Deputy Head of Healthcare (12 month FTC)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Head of Healthcare to join our busy team at HMP New Hall & HMP Askham Grange - both female prisons in West Yorkshire.
This role is being offered on a 12 month FTC covering maternity leave, and is a fantastic opportunity for a current Deputy to gain invaluable experience at different sites, or a current lead looking to step up and progress! You will work from HMP New Hall 4 days per week, and Askham Grange 1 day per week.
Job summary
Salary: This position is full-time, and you will receive an annual salary of £49,585 - £52,000 depending on experience.
Hours: This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday between 08:00 - 16:00.

Main duties of the job
As our new Deputy Head of Healthcare, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Work closely with the Head of Healthcare and senior team to deliver the best service possible to patients
* Support all pathways that we offer - mental health, primary care and substance misuse
* Work across the two sites, providing leadership to the clinical leads and wider healthcare team
* Deputise for the Head of Healthcare when necessary
* Have responsibility for the operational management of the service
* Continuously review and assess the service being delivered
* Review and improve standards and processes
* Support the Head of Healthcare in delivering agreed contractual requirements and targets from NHS England and drive their strategic vision for the service
* Ensure effective day-to-day operational management of all clinical services across the site
* Ensure agreed standards are achieved by leading, developing and motivating your team, ensuring they receive appropriate managerial supervision and performance appraisal

Person Specification
Our new Deputy Head of Healthcare will:
* Have knowledge and understanding of healthcare within a prison environment or secure setting
* Be an existing Deputy Head, Clinical Lead or Senior Staff Member
* Have knowledge of clinical governance
* Have experience of QOF (Quality and Outcomes Framework)
* Ideally have experience in a managerial / leadership position
* Any prison or secure environment experience would be a bonus!
* Be happy to work across multiple sites, and respond to service needs to work where needed
