Teaching Assistant / HLTA – PPA Cover & Class Support Job Title: Teaching Assistant (TA) / Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Location: Primary School, Launceston Contract Type: Permanent / Variable Start Date: 22nd April 2025 Hours: 22.5 hours per week ( HLTA – 2.5 hours | TA – 20 hours ) Salary: £24,130 (HLTA) / £23,555 (TA) FTE Working Weeks: 38 weeks (Term Time Only) We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated TA / HLTA to join our supportive primary school team in Launceston. This role involves providing PPA cover and may include additional class cover due to staff absence. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality PPA cover across different year groups Support classroom teaching and pupil learning as a TA Step in to cover classes when required Work closely with teachers to create an engaging learning environment Essential Requirements: GCSE Grade C / NVQ Level 2 or above in English & Maths (or equivalent) HLTA qualification or ability to meet HLTA standards Good standard of practical knowledge, skills, and experience working with pupils in a learning environment Experience of teaching whole classes Strong communication and teamwork skills A passion for working with children and supporting their education If you are looking for a varied and rewarding role within a friendly and welcoming school, we would love to hear from you.
