Job summary e are seeking to recruit an organised and flexible individual to join our Newborn Hearing Screening Team at Walsall Manor Hospital. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 months recent newborn hearingscreening experience and hold the Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners (Newborn Hearing) and ECA practical assessment. Full training can be offered if necessary. The service operates for 364 days a year (excluding Christmas Day) so the rotation will include Bank Holidays and one weekend in three. This post will average 14 hours a weekacross a 3 week rota,working hours of 09:00 to 14:00 weekdays and 08:00 to 14:00 weekends. Some full time days may be required to attend our hospital induction programme and mandatory training sessions. GCSE English Language and Maths (minimum Grade C/4 or equivalent), good IT skills, and a full UK driving license with access to a vehicle, are essential. Main duties of the job The main duties of this role are performing hearing screens on newborn babies using automated equipment. Screening takes place on the post natal wards, neonatal unit, delivery suite and in outpatient clinics at the hospital and in the community. Excellent communication skills and the ability to accurately update the national databases and hospital systems with the screening results are also crucial to the role.
