The Role Although Hiscox UK have utilised Microsoft Azure Cloud Services for several years, we are just starting out on the adoption of Microsoft D365 CE and the Power Platform suite. As an Application Specialist in the Power Platform CoE you will be at the forefront of this initiative. Collaborating with your peers in the technology team and business stakeholders, you will refine and develop requirements into solutions using the Power Platform, balancing potentially conflicting requirements across different workstreams to streamline business process and maximise organisational efficiency. You will deliver ongoing improvement to our Dynamics 365 and Power Platform estate. Working with our Microsoft partners, you will ensure the quality of the D365 solutions being implemented by them as well as providing continuous maintenance and enhancements. You will also be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of internal projects using Power Platform and D365 from requirements gathering and estimations, through solution design, build, test and delivery, also ensuring software deliverables are documented, secure, efficient, easily maintainable and with an appropriate support model in place. You will also work with the Power Platform team to assist in the adoption of Power Platform technologies by professional and non-professional developers (citizen developers) within Hiscox. Collaborating in the development of an appropriate governance model, with associated policies and standards, to ensure any assets created by the team meet best practice, are manageable, maintainable, secure and performant. You will act as a technology champion for D365 CE and Power Platform providing assistance, coaching and support to non-professional developers where required to encourage utilisation of the technology across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Assist in the introduction of a governance model for D365 and Power Platform technology, contributing to the definition of policies, standards and processes to be adhered to by both Hiscox and 3rd party suppliers. Lead collaboratively with business operations teams to influence and enable the set-up of simple ‘self-service’ application and workflows that are efficient, secure and fit for purpose. Work in partnership with Engineering in the definition and development of more complex .Net applications. Feeding in requirements and influencing outcomes. Assist in the design, development and delivery of the components of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, ensuring they remain securely configured, access control models are enforced, appropriate metrics are captured, and technical standards are adhered to. Collaborate with the Power Platform Architect, Solution Architects and business users to ensure Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions are developed in accordance with best practice and meet functional and non-functional business requirements. Undertake the design, development, testing and deployment of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform applications. Assist in the integration of D365 and Power Platform components with other internal and external solution components. Perform detailed analysis of data to support the trouble shooting and resolution of application defects. Act as an D365 and Power Platform SME within the wider IT team, advising on platform strategy and taking ownership to define the right approach for configuration and customisation of the technology. Essential Skills Experience in implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE, particularly D365 Sales and Customer Service apps. Good understanding of the capabilities of each of the components of the Microsoft Power Platform and understanding of appropriate use cases for each. Deep understanding of the Common Data Model and Dataverse functionality. A proven track record in the definition, design and development, testing and deployment of software solutions. Able to analyse complex information and communicate this to others Experience of database design, data normalisation and querying data. Strong communication skills and ability to talk to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to influence others Experience with both waterfall and agile project methodologies and an understanding of application lifecycle management. Self-motivated and demonstrable ability to stay current with the latest technologies, trends, best-practise and security that can benefit the technology roadmap and team. Desirable Skills Insurance industry knowledge and experience would be an advantage but is not essential. Experience in working with Power Platform AI Builder and/or integrating with external AI technology. Understanding of Azure cloud technology and the Azure security model. Microsoft certifications e.g. Dynamics 365 Fundamentals (CRM) or Power Platform Fundamentals is an advantage.
