About the role SZC (Sizewell C) is ultimately owned by two shareholders, EDF and HMG. The shareholders fund SZC up to Financial Close through equity. SZC’s business involves designing, financing, constructing, commissioning, operating, maintaining, and decommissioning the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. The current phase aims to implement the Capital Raise Plan, complete equity and debt raises, and secure necessary permits for construction. Prior to government investment, SZC operated under EDF’s Nuclear Development unit, now transitioning to direct employment. SZC aims to establish itself as a capable entity for delivering new nuclear power, similar to Hinkley Point C. Key stakeholders include the UK Government, relevant departments, EDF, financial institutions, regulators, and local communities. What you'll be doing The Enabling Works Junior Planner assists the Senior Planner and collaborates with the Planning Lead and SZC teams to develop, coordinate, and monitor the project program for Enabling Works, including civil works delivery. Assist in planning and managing the development and improvement of the Enabling Works Schedule. Ensure programme compliance with planning procedures and maintain the Contract Programme accordingly. Collaborate to develop efficient design, procurement, and construction strategies for project delivery. Support in implementing and maintaining project controls processes for scheduling and generating monthly reports. Produce and document planning deliverables, contract programmes, and supporting information as per contract requirements. Provide support to BIM Coordinators to fulfill project needs. Liaise with site teams and the supply chain to monitor progress and issues, ensuring program adherence. Manage resources efficiently to meet project goals while controlling costs and delays. Analyse project data and KPIs to track progress and drive project enhancements. Manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring performance and resolving issues. Oversee environmental assessments to mitigate ecological impacts from enabling works. Who we're looking for Knowledge & Skills Technical: Experience as a Civil Engineering Planner under NEC with P6; strong understanding of project controls. Communication: Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and regulatory authorities. Safety Culture: Promote a high priority on safety within the team and contractors. Regulatory Compliance: Experience in ensuring compliance with nuclear safety and environmental regulations. Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve issues in earthworks projects effectively. Qualifications & Experience Essential: Industry-recognized qualification in Construction Management or Civil Engineering; experience in managing Construction Programmes in civil engineering/infrastructure.
