As part of the ongoing transformation of Neurorehabilitation services across Greater Manchester in-patient services, Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences (MCCN) is excited to be advertising a newly funded Band 7 Speech and Language Therapistpost based at theDevonshire Intermediate Neurorehab unit (INRU)in Stockport. This post will form part of the expansion in therapy staffing at this highly regarded Intermediate Neurorehabilitation unit.
The Devonshire INRU is based in the vibrant and easily accessible town of Stockport, 8 miles from the City of Manchester and close to the Peak District. It is a 19 bedded unit for the care of post-acute patients requiring ongoing community-based in-patient rehabilitation.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Band 7 with significant experience in Neurorehabilitation to be part of this fantastic, expanding and developing service which has close links with the Floyd INRU and the Hyperacute and Acute services at Salford Royal.

• To lead on and provide, highly specialist, individualised, Speech and Language therapy interventions for all patients admitted with a Neurological condition.
• The role involves clinical, leadership and educational opportunities to develop outstanding evidence-based practice in the Speech and Language therapy management of patients with neurological conditions.
• Excellent communication skills will be required to liaise effectively with treating clinicians, the patient, their family members, and community services and support networks throughout the patient pathway.
• To lead on the development of the team and wider Neurorehab services to ensure they meet the high standards of excellence being driven across Neurorehabilitation.
• To provide effective and supportive leadership and management to the SLT and Therapy assistant team at the Devonshire Unit as required.
