Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Assistant Tax Manager to join our in-house tax team on a 6-month basis.
As the Assistant Tax Manager, you will be involved in a wide range of tax-related activities including Corporate Tax, VAT and Transfer Pricing covering the UK and numerous jurisdictions around the world. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within our Tax Department, our Finance department and other key internal stakeholders as well as our external tax advisors to ensure efficient management of tax compliance and reporting activities globally.
This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in international taxes as well as building on your UK experience within a fast-paced global business.
The role will be based in our Edinburgh office with the flexibility to work from home as per our internal policy.
Principal Responsibilities and Essential Duties
* Assist with UK and International corporate tax computations and returns.
* Preparation and submission of UK and International VAT/GST returns.
* Arrange and monitor tax filing and payment obligations to ensure tax compliance obligations are met globally.
* Reconciliation of direct tax/indirect tax accounts on our accounting system.
* Prepare quarterly transfer pricing adjustments across the group.
* Assist with the preparation of transfer pricing documentation for the group.
* Assist with general tax queries and requests from all business units worldwide and internal stakeholders.
* Work alongside our global tax advisors or auditors to provide the necessary data and review any queries raised.
* Preparation of supporting Withholding tax documents across our business.
* Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.
* Assist with general administrative responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
* Tax experience in industry and/or similar positions
* Experience of the following applications: Outlook, Excel, Word
* Association of Tax Technician qualification (Desirable)
* Chartered Institute of Tax (Desirable)
