Our prestigious GXO site in Barnsley is looking to recruit an Employee Relations Advisor on a full-time, permanent basis. You will be working alongside one of the hottest apparel retailers in the UK and overseas, providing timely, effective, and comprehensive support to line managers in all aspects of Human Resources.
You will be working a shift pattern: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday days (flexible hours to be agreed at interview), and Thursday and Friday working nights from 22:00 to 08:30.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £35,000 plus a night shift allowance of £2,400 per annum, and 264 hours of annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
1. Advise and guide managers on employee relation matters.
2. Review, streamline and enhance HR processes and procedures to maximize efficiencies while ensuring full compliance is maintained.
3. Proactively monitor and provide the HR Manager with management information relating to HR matters, e.g., HR statistics for employee headcount, turnover, and absence.
4. Support and develop your HR Administrator and the wider team.
5. Support the immediate and long-term needs of the site while delivering the HR Strategy and the site’s people plan.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
1. Practiced in dealing with trade unions and associated collective agreements.
2. Knowledge of HR policy, practice, employee relations, and change management approaches (evidenced with Occupational Health Referrals, long-term sickness, absence case management).
3. Demonstrate a passionate & ‘pacey’ style and approach – getting things done.
4. Experience in the FMCG/ Logistics/ Operations sector.
5. The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
