Purpose Of The Role
The Assistant Buyer supports the Buyer and Head of Buying in the smooth and commercial delivery of the product range to drive profitable sales growth. This role supports the management of the process to ensure that the collections, once designed, are appropriately priced and effectively produced to meet the quality expectations of the Crew customer, in line with department and business expectations.
Work Arrangement
3 days a week in central London and 2 days from home.
Salary
£28,000
Responsibilities
* Assisting Buyer and Head of Buying in all aspects of the product development process.
* Buy and develop ranges in line with the agreed range and business strategy.
Range Development
* Support Buyer and Head of Buying on range development to agreed plan and margin, ensuring alignment with agreed supply partners.
* Complete regular price comparison shops on competitors to ensure we remain competitive and highlight any changes or opportunities.
* Support with seasonal strategy contributing to team lessons learned and SWOT analysis.
Critical Path And Fit Process
* Update and manage the critical path weekly.
* Report exceptions to all channel launch dates to the Buyer on a weekly basis.
* Liaise weekly with the direct team, merchandising, and technical teams through garment approval stages, updating the critical path.
Samples
* Ensure timely delivery of photo shoot samples according to the critical path.
* Manage sample tracker and liaise with channels on handover.
People
* Manage the workload of the Admin Assistant.
* Work well cross-functionally.
Requirements
* Experience in a similar role.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Word.
* Ability to prioritize and manage a work schedule while working to tight deadlines.
* Ability to initiate and build strong relationships with suppliers and other department members.
* Teamwork-oriented but motivated to work independently.
* Understanding of the buying function and critical path processes.
