An opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Street Lighting Engineer to assist in the management of the street lighting improvement schemes.
You will support the Street Lighting Planned Works Team Leader and the engineers and be part of the team responsible for the investigation and resolution of street lighting faults and enquiries. The role will require you to work closely with the engineers and with our partners to plan repairs, renewals, and improvements. You should be able to demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills, be organised, and manage your time to respond to the demands on the service. You will be required to assist other service areas, developers, and third parties on the lighting aspects of their works. You will have experience of working within the street lighting environment.
The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential.

The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
