What is a Behaviour Support Assistant?
A Behaviour Support Assistant is a dedicated teaching assistant that primarily works with students who require support to manage their behaviours. A behaviour support assistant will help manage and improve pupil behaviour in the classroom, supporting both the teacher's lessons and the pupils' personal development.
Skills required:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour and maintain a calm and positive attitude
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
- Patience and empathy to understand and support students with special needs
- Knowledge of special educational needs and strategies to support students with diverse needs
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
