Psychology Graduate - Mental Health Support
A position has recently become available for a psychology graduate to work alongside an experienced educator and other support staff in a specialist school in Maidenhead. The position is to work as a Mental Health Support Assistant.
This school looks after students who have been exposed to adverse childhood experiences and those who have a primary need for social, emotional, and mental health support. Because of the challenges they have faced, this has impacted their ability to learn.
Students may also have trouble coping with issues such as stress and anxiety, which can lead to school avoidance. These children have been affected by adverse childhood experiences.
In your role as a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with other specialists and be involved in delivering specific interventions designed for each child to help them progress in their education.
This school also makes use of restorative practices and pays close attention to ensuring that no child is left behind.
You will support students through their academics and their mental health. In this role, you will help them with their mental health needs, teach them healthy ways to cope, regulate their emotions, and manage their schoolwork. You will play an important role in ensuring that no child is left behind!
To be successful in this role, you will need to be kind, compassionate, and patient. You should have a passion for mental health and a desire to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable students.
