Literacy for Life Literacy for Life is a thematic curriculum taught for 17 hours with a single teacher in Year 7, 13 hours in Year 8 and 9 hours in Year 9 teaching across a range of subjects. Each teacher is focussed on the 25 students in their class, not just from an academic perspective but also getting to know the students and their families and forming a partnership which helps students to progress. The programme has been run successfully within our Trust for the past 11 years and judged Outstanding by Ofsted at the last two inspections. As a Director of Literacy for Life, you will be part of a team that is responsible for promoting standards, shaping the curriculum and taking an oversight of students’ pastoral development and have a Year 7 Teaching commitment. Our KS3 programme is accommodated in a bespoke technologically rich, new build environment. We are seeking an inspirational teacher from either secondary or Upper Key Stage 2. Applicants should be: Have experience of teaching across the key stages. Applications from Upper Key Stage 2 teachers are welcome Be a consistently good/outstanding teacher Be an exceptional classroom practitioner with high expectations of both learning and behaviour Demonstrate an ability to inspire, motivate and enthuse pupils Be committed to raising standards for all and share the same drive to constantly learn and improve Show willingness to lead initiatives and show evidence of impact. Demonstrate a passion to make a difference to others Be proficient with the use of technology for learning and have a willingness to innovate.
