Job Description:
Company Description
North Star Children's Homes operates in Surrey, Sussex, and Berkshire. We are pioneering new solutions for children's residential social care in the UK in educationally thoughtful and beautiful homes. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Home Manager who is or is now ready (currently a Deputy Manager) to become a Registered Manager for a new home providing care for children.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Registered Manager in a new home for children.
Ideally, but not necessarily, we are seeking someone who is (or is now ready to assume promotion to be) a Registered Manager based on their experience with children in care to date. The new North Star Registered Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the children's home, ensure the well-being and safety of the children, manage staff, and implement care plans. The role involves working closely with external stakeholders and promoting a positive, nurturing environment for the children. The new Registered Manager will be strongly supported by a team of top-tier experts including RI, commercial, administrative, placement, and regulatory consultants.
Qualifications
* At least two years of experience managing or working in a children's residential care home as a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager is essential.
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection laws
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
* Understanding of trauma-informed care and therapeutic interventions
* Excellent organizational and decision-making skills
* Relevant qualification in social work, child care, or a related field
* Proven ability to build relationships with children who have experienced unstable backgrounds
* Provide strong leadership to the staff team and work with them to help children thrive and stay safe
* Utilize skills in multidisciplinary working to coordinate care plan delivery
* Challenge colleagues' contributions to ensure children receive necessary help and support children’s aspirations
Remuneration
Salary plus bonuses and benefits in the region of £100,000 per annum.
