Job Summary
The post holder will possess basic computer skills, GCSE Grade C in English and Maths, and NVQ Level 1-3. Previous experience in SSDs or Operating Theatres is desirable.
The post holder will be expected to assist in the provision of sterile services to Theatres and provide support to Theatre Staff within the Operating Theatre.
Responsibilities include managing the day-to-day transfer of CMH Theatre instruments between hospitals, scanning instruments from IHHS trolley to instrument storage, and working closely with the Clinical Theatre Manager, The Trust Theatre Equipment Lead, and Clinical Teams to ensure smooth and efficient running of theatres.
The post holder is responsible for the repair and refurbishment of theatre instruments and reporting faulty equipment to EBME. You will also assist the Loan Instrument Lead Coordinator in maintaining an equipment register for all medical and surgical equipment within the department.
Other responsibilities include recording and actioning all non-conformance and negotiating any disputes, as well as booking and checking surgical loans/hired/borrowed items from companies or other hospitals, arranging transportation and returns/collection, and maintaining accurate records.
Main Duties of the Job
* Update the theatre team regarding theatre supplies and associated finances, pricing, and technical matters.
* Assist and negotiate with consultants, surgeons, and theatre staff regarding supplies, ensuring appropriate stock and items are ordered in a timely manner in line with the department's budget.
* Liaise with EBME and other companies regarding repairs and replacements in line with current safety standards.
Provide support to the Loan and Instrument Coordinator with invoice queries with suppliers which may be contentious due to discrepancies and/or delays in payment.
