We are seeking to appoint an experienced School Nurse to support both Junior and Senior Schools and the pupils who board with us.
The School Nurse is an integral part of the Wellbeing Hub within school and works closely with the pastoral staff to support pupils with their health and wellbeing. Whilst working as part of a wider team you will be confident in making your own decisions on a day-to-day basis as the stand-alone nurse in school. The GP visits weekly and she provides professional guidance and support.
Ackworth is a dynamic and forward-thinking school. We strive to develop resilient individuals who not only think creatively, but also act ethically and with responsibility. We encourage our students to express themselves with confidence, to embody the Quaker value of speaking respectfully to others, but also in a way that is true to themselves and their beliefs.
As a relatively small school, just over 400 pupils in total, we enable pupils and staff to immediately become part of our community and we hope that, if this role is something that resonates with your skills and values, you will become a key part of the Ackworth School community.
We are looking for someone who is not just reactive to health requirements but who very much takes a therapeutic, pro-active approach to the health and well-being of the entire School.
We welcome applications from all areas of health care provided that you are able to upskill yourself in paediatric health, however some experience of working with children and young people is essential.

With only 34 working weeks there is ample opportunity to register for bank nursing work.
The salary for the full-time role is up to £37,350- FTE (£28,443 actual) In addition to this the school provides all meals during working hours in term time. The working hours are 37.5 per week and days are Monday to Friday.

• a generous fee remission of 50% for the children of our staff.
• all food and refreshments during the working day.
• free on-site parking.
• flexible pension and wellbeing benefits.
• 34 working weeks
• a supportive and friendly environment based on the Quaker ethos of the school.
