Situated on the beautiful Moray Coast in the North of Scotland, Gordonstoun is widely recognised as the world leader in character education. We have a co-educational community of over 500 students aged from 4-18, who are predominantly full boarding and are drawn from over 40 countries. As a boarding school, we run a number of events during the year for prospective and current students and parents. We are looking for an experienced and proactive Events Manager to oversee the delivery of a full internal and commercial events programme at Gordonstoun School.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage a range of different high-quality events of varying scale and size.
2. Bring significant management and delivery experience in a similar role.
3. Ensure excellent communication with all stakeholders.
Skills Required:
1. Previous event management experience.
2. Customer service experience.
3. Budgeting and forecasting.
4. Excellent IT skills, including experience of MS Office applications and MS Teams.
5. Experience of working in a school environment.
6. Experience/knowledge of wedding planning.
7. Line management experience.
8. Strong digital skills.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Friendly and personable – to host events and represent Gordonstoun School positively.
11. Enthusiastic, diligent, and calm under pressure.
12. Ability to prioritise workload and make clear decisions.
13. Flexible, with a can-do attitude.
14. Ability to seek and implement creative solutions.
15. Ability to work with colleagues at all levels.
16. Creates a positive and cooperative working environment.
17. Suitable to work with children.
18. A full PVG check will be completed on the successful candidate.
Qualifications Required:
1. Educated to secondary level, demonstrating a high level of literacy, numeracy, and planning.
2. Educated to degree level.
3. Knowledge of how a good event is planned and implemented.
4. Knowledge of events costs and suppliers.
