What's involved with this role: Interim Children's Residential Ofsted Registered Manager Reference no: AFC RQ1456383 Pay Rate: £ 25.61 per hour PAYE 37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 3 months City: CHESTERFIELD Enhanced DBS disclosure required You will be responsible for the operational management and leadership of a residential home, setting the values, principles and ethos of the home in line with - national standards and policy, procedure and expectations, leading to the delivery of excellent quality care that achieves positive and agreed outcomes for children and young people and an outstanding or good or equivalent rating in external inspections. Key Responsibilities: Complete/submit the SC2 form Fit person interview Leadership training for the Team Leader (Dep Manager) that is already in post. 5 Residential Support Workers increasing to 8 later this month – Training/inductions Establishing a new long stay children's home for children and young people with learning and physical disabilities including the recruitment and induction of a new staff team. Work closely with Ofsted to ensure a home that is deemed to be offering each child high quality care through effective leadership and management. Key requirements: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (and Scotland SVQ Level 4 Management & Leadership); or for England 2. Or an equivalent Level 5 Diploma as defined by the DFE Guide to Children’s Homes Regulations, 2015. Knowledge and understanding of the OFSTED requirements and understanding of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 Experience of managing and motivating a team to deliver a safe and high performing service At least 2 years’ experience in the last 5 years of working in a position relevant to residential childcare Must have Ofsted and 2 years experience with Children Residential. Demonstrable experience of motivating and leading by example to improve outcomes Demonstrable experience of working with children and young people who exhibit very challenging, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Experience of leading by example with the application of safeguarding practices and policies Proven ability to develop trust, rapport, influence and credibility with a staff team.
