A career opportunity has arisen at Melvich Community Care Unit for someone that has a desire to work in care or an experienced Social Care Assistant desiring a change of location. Melvich is a 6 bedded residential care unit on the scenic North Coast of Sutherland.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who can work both on an individual basis and as a member of a team. You will adopt a person-centred approach to deliver a high standard of flexible and responsive care to service users within the care home. You will provide support and assistance to residents using the re-ablement approach that includes support to maximise and maintain their independence.
This post is responsible for working alongside the shift lead. The role includes delivering personal care and some cleaning duties.
Previous experience in a social care setting is preferred, but not essential as full training will be given in role and ideally you will hold an SVQ 2 in social care or as a minimum have a willingness to achieve an SVQ 2 in Social Care to enable registration with the SSSC on the social care worker part of the register within 3 years of appointment.
This is a permanent part-time post, and the hours of duty are 17.26 hours per week, and will be as required to meet the needs of the service, predominantly night shifts with the occasional day shift, including weekends.
