VAVE Commodity Specialists
Looking to hire SME's/specialists for each of the following categories:
1. Thermal Management Systems
2. Seats
3. IP (Structure/Cross Car Beam & Trim)
4. EV Batteries
5. Chassis
6. Body & Closures Structure
Location: Brome Suffolk (Hybrid working, likely 2-3 days onsite)
Salary: Negotiable
Hours: Standard 40 Hours Per Week
International travel: required 3-4 times per year, this will likely be 2-3 weeks per trip.
We are a global engineering solutions company working closely with major Automotive, Highway, Agriculture and Construction Equipment Manufacturers and Tier 1 Suppliers to solve engineering challenges relative to Product Development, Cost Optimization, Manufacturing and Aftermarket.
The Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) team provides important insights to the automotive industry by conducting physical and virtual evaluation of vehicle design and parts to optimize performance, cost, and mass. Our team of experienced experts recommends design best practices to our customers, based on accumulated decades of automotive experience. Our work is fast-paced, to ensure our customers have the data they need when they need it to make the most informed product decisions.
Key responsibilities:
1. Provide in-house system expertise to drive insights and improve global VAVE process efficiencies - “One Stop Shop”
2. Partner with our client's Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and cross-functional teams (teardown, cost estimating, etc.) to identify, develop and vet proposed design efficiency opportunities - “idea ready to proceed to customer”.
3. Provide initial quality assessment of cost estimating inputs.
4. Develop global expertise by proactively seeking out best practices and trends across the automotive industry, including trends in material usage, component designs, etc.
5. Develop organizational capability through teams and relationships
6. Mentor VAVE engineer(s) to develop technical knowledge of this system.
7. Work cross culturally to build relationships and effective teams
Education:
1. Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Experience:
1. Extensive experience of engineering design.
Skills:
1. Strong analytical and creative skills to identify opportunities and provide a holistic assessment of “real world” benefit.
2. Excellent communication to create clear descriptions of customer opportunities.
3. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
4. Strong Microsoft office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Preferred background:
1. Familiarity with VAVE methodologies and tools.
Additional Information:
This role is an on-site role located in Brome, England. Brome, UK: candidates will work in person 3 days per week. Adjustments will be made based on business needs and as defined by manager.
