The Power Systems Engineer will take a leading role in driving and executing low and medium voltage power systems design activities for projects of up to multi-MW scale. This will include a wide range of tasks including requirements capture, system-level design, operational definition, simulation, and analysis, focusing on energy, and industrial sectors. The engineer will have the opportunity to contribute throughout the entire project lifecycle, from concept development through to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and support project teams in delivering power systems solutions, which may include power generation and distribution, energy storage, protection, power conversion, control, and automation, ensuring designs align with customer and third-party requirements.
* Conduct detailed design studies covering areas such as short-circuit calculations, load flow analysis, protection coordination, power quality, common mode issues, and electromagnetic compatibility.
* Develop requirements and functional specifications for various system components, including generators, switchboards, transformers, power electronic converters, motors, energy storage systems, and associated cabling.
* Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and business professionals, leveraging your expertise in power systems engineering and equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
* A minimum of a degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
* Proficient in using software simulation and design tools relevant to power systems engineering.
