Our stunning care home, Guiseley Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built 72-bed care facility located in the town of Guiseley in West Yorkshire, Leeds. The home provides the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care to residents with various needs, including residential, nursing, and dementia care. It reflects the New Care vision of safety, comfort, and care, investing in the latest technology and offering a purposeful program of daily activities and gentle exercise to enhance residents' experience and well-being. All team members are carefully selected for their warmth and passion, with full induction and ongoing training from our in-house trainers and the New Care Academy. We pride ourselves on employing a permanent staff team, with no agency staff for over 4 years, ensuring continuity of care from staff who know and residents trust. Across New Care, all staff are paid the national living wage or above.
We are seeking to appoint a motivated and experienced Chef to join our team. The role involves working with the Head Chef to ensure high-quality food service that supports residents, responds to their needs, and contributes to their positive living experience. The position offers a 40 hours contract with an hourly rate of £12.75. Shift times are 07:30-17:30, with alternate weekend working.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Ensure menus are presented and displayed clearly, enabling residents to understand and make daily choices.
2. Provide meals in sufficient quantities, considering dietary, medical, ethnic, and personal preferences.
3. Ensure all food is nutritionally balanced, attractively presented, served timely, and in the correct sequence.
4. Follow and adhere to company HACCP protocols, ensuring full compliance.
5. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchens and serving areas, uphold infection control standards, and comply with the Food Standards Act 1999, including record-keeping.
6. Manage, allocate duties, and supervise the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring quality service delivery.
7. Inspire and motivate the team to produce food to high standards.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Experience working during busy meal periods, including breakfast and evening service.
2. Experience working in a care home or similar environment.
3. Knowledge of specialized diets and service delivery.
4. Ability to contribute to and develop the four-week menu.
5. Ability to complete records demonstrating legal compliance.
