Business Development Manager (Asbestos), covering Southwest & South Wales region Are you an experienced sales professional with a background in asbestos consultancy? We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Business Development Manager to join our industry leading Environment & Safety Division. We are looking for a proactive, reliable and flexible Business Development Manager to join our Asbestos team. As a member of the team, it is key that you have the balance to be driven and independent, as well as being a strong team player. The successful individual will be responsible for delivering new, profitable contracts and develop the sales pipeline for our asbestos services across the Southwest. The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to): Deliver new, profitable contracts to be met by proactive sales activity, relationship building with existing customers, some competitive tendering and maximising reactive opportunities. You will also support other managers and members of the sales team with opportunities for cross selling SOCOTEC s wider portfolio of services. Achieve a personal sales target as agreed with the Divisional Operations Director/Commercial Director each year. Monthly activity and performance targets will be set in conjunction with the Divisional Operations Director/Commercial Director Maintain and develop a wide network of contacts and build effective relationships within the marketplace through which you will generate opportunities for new business Proactively prospect new and existing clients to promote the asbestos services, and wider SOCOTEC services, to generate leads and opportunities Follow up incoming leads through sources such as referral, website or telephone, marketing events such as exhibitions, technical forums Develop specific sales opportunities in conjunction with operational / technical personnel and position SOCOTEC as the client s preferred solution Work to and be monitored against pre-agreed, achievable targets To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate: Sales experience relevant to Asbestos Consultancy and a level of technical understanding within this sector A proven record of accomplishment of generating revenue through new sales prospecting and client development in compliance services Excellent communication and relationship building skills Good IT skills with knowledge of MS Office applications A full UK Driving licence About our Asbestos Business The SOCOTEC Asbestos team holds UKAS accreditation for both Inspection and Testing and is one of the leading asbestos consultancies in the UK. We provide all aspects of asbestos consultancy services, ensuring clients are better equipped to comply with current legislation. These services include surveying, lab analysis of samples, managing removal projects on the clients behalf, consultancy, policy reviews, action plans and Training. We operate out of six offices covering all areas of the UK, and assist more than 300 clients on a variety of projects, from offices to military bases to hospitals.
