About the Role
This role offers a rare opportunity to edit one of Britain’s most iconic newspaper sections. The ideal candidate will have experience in editing or deputy editing within the newspaper or magazine industry. They should excel in generating innovative ideas, thrive in a dynamic newsroom environment, and demonstrate strong leadership capabilities.
Main Responsibilities
* Editorial Leadership:Lead and inspire a team of writers and contributors, fostering a collaborative and creative atmosphere.
* Content Development:Create compelling editorial that aligns with Femail Magazine’s unique heritage while moving the brand forward both in print and online.
* Management of Production:Oversee the timely production of high-quality content, ensuring adherence to editorial standards, deadlines and style guidelines.
* Collaboration:Work closely with other editorial teams to optimize cross-platform content integration and audience engagement.
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as an editor or deputy editor of a newspaper section or magazine, with a good understanding of editorial processes and newsroom dynamics.
* Strong editorial judgment and the ability to drive original, thought-provoking content.
* Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead the team and collaborate well across departments.
* A passion for journalism, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining high editorial standards.
