Design Engineer
Location - Chippenham
Salary - Dependant upon experience and benefits
Our client is looking for a Design Engineer to be a part of their expanding team. They deliver and support end-to-end solutions in support of critical applications and systems within the defence, utility, blue light, and public sectors.
Knowledge and experience required:
1. Experience in site activities including installing, configuring, and commissioning communications and telecoms equipment and services.
2. Experience in the formalised design of systems and/or subsystems.
3. Exposure to, and some experience in, a diverse range of communication technologies, including IP Networking and at least one of the following: SDN, TDM, DWDM, Microwave radio, Telephony, CCTV, or Access Control.
4. Flexibility in working, including willingness to work and stay away in different regions of the UK and occasionally abroad.
5. Excellent customer-facing qualities.
6. Excellent communicator with strong presentation, numeracy, and written skills.
7. Confidence to work in controlled areas, such as electrical substations.
8. Confidence to work with low voltage power systems.
9. An aptitude for pragmatic problem solving.
10. Willingness to learn and keenness to grow.
11. Strong problem-solving abilities; able to facilitate discussions and outcomes.
12. Able to travel within designated territory and work with the minimum of supervision.
The following would be advantageous:
1. Cisco Qualification (CCNA/CCNP etc).
2. Experience with Cyber Security.
3. Electrical '18th Edition' and/or Level 2 & 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations.
4. Inspection & Testing level 2 certificate (C&G #removed#).
5. Understanding of the sales process.
6. Degree level education advantageous, but track record of success in aligned career of higher importance.
7. Able to demonstrate commercial understanding and business acumen.
