Bradley Stoke Surgery has a diverse team and has supported Mental Health Practitioners for many years, valuing their input to the care of our 18,500 patients.
Main duties of the job
The practice MHP runs clinics offering both routine and urgent appointments. You will manage a caseload of clients with a variety of needs, putting people at ease and inspiring their trust and confidence for a range of mental health conditions and presentations.

We serve 18,500 patients and are growing, with a demographic focused on working-age patients and young families. Our team currently includes 5 Partners, 6 Salaried GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Physicians Associates, and Physiotherapists.
We utilize EMIS Web and Docman and have a supportive clinical team with a GP mentor.
Job responsibilities
To work independently providing assessment, treatment, and referral of patients predominantly with low mood, anxiety, and depression. You will liaise with and refer to primary and secondary mental health services, voluntary and public sector agencies, and community support groups.

* Current NMC registration
* Accredited training in mental health
* Primary Care experience
* Experience with EMIS

* Frontline experience using advanced assessment skills in determining the nature and severity of mental illness/health conditions
* Experience in assessing risk and developing risk management strategies
* Experience in onward referral to secondary mental health services or signposting to other psychological therapy services within primary care
* Experience of working in primary care
