Spurgeons runs family and prisoner support services and provide further support for families of prisoners (UK) and those who visit them, with a particular focus on children and strengthening family relationships. Our approach to working with fathers in prison is to see them as dads first and foremost, enabling them to be positive and as proactive as possible in their parenting role from custody and to be the best parent they can be on release back into the community
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Prison Family Services Resettlement Intervention Coordinator, you will be dedicated to fostering positive and sustainable change for children, young people, and families impacted by parental imprisonment. In this exciting new role, you will play a vitally important part in addressing the unique resettlement needs of individuals and their families, offering comprehensive support throughout the resettlement process. By building effective partnerships with prison-based and local community services, you will identify and recruit a case load of fathers and their families that meet the service criteria, ensuring a seamless interagency response to their needs. Your role will encompass managing a caseload of fathers due for release, utilising assessment tools such as the Outcomes Star to identify needs and coordinate group and one-to-one support within prison and the community. You will coordinate and lead multi-agency Family Resettlement Meetings, ensuring that the views of the family members are heard and can contribute to seamless pre and post release support.
