Domestic Appliance Service Engineers are tasked with servicing and repairing various domestic appliances, with occasional returns to base during the week.
This role requires adherence to our high standards and health and safety regulations while delivering efficient service to customers. A flexible and proactive approach with initiative is essential.
Responsibilities
As a Domestic Appliance Service Engineer, you will operate in customers' homes within the Midlands area (primarily Derby, Nottingham, and Leicester), identifying faults and repairing various domestic appliances. You are expected to complete up to 10 calls per day, depending on the size of the area. The products you will service include dishwashers, washing machines, tumble dryers, cookers, microwaves, hobs, cooker hoods, fridges, and freezers.
Attend up to 10 calls a day, depending on area or job requirements.
Ensure all electronic worksheets are accurate and updated.
Inspect job sheets carefully to identify essential parts needed for each call.
Collect necessary parts for the day's calls.
Maintain an up-to-date stock in the van.
Keep the supplied vehicle clean and presentable, performing routine maintenance checks.
Be polite and courteous to all customers.
Ensure high-quality work to encourage repeat business.
Clean up any mess caused by work at the customer's property.
Aim to complete as many calls as possible on the first visit.
Wear the provided company uniform. Requirements
Gas certification is not required
Experience in servicing and repairing domestic appliances such as refrigerators, laundry products, electric cooking products & dishwashing products is required.
Field service technician experience and 2nd line refrigeration (R600) are advantageous, training is available.
Problem-solving skills and attention to detail are important.
Full responsibility for Health & Safety issues, whilst lone working.
Skills in diagnostics, fault finding, and repair of domestic appliances are required.
Experience with brands such as Bosch, Beko, Hotpoint, Whirlpool, Glen Dimplex, Miele, and Electrolux is necessary.
Effective use of technology, good communication and customer service skills are needed.
A clean driving license is required (up to 6 points acceptable). Essential Qualifications & Skills:
