Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a director level project management professional to join our busy and expanding occupier fit out team in London, helping deliver some of the most high-profile and complex fit out schemes in the capital.
The appointed person will have a detailed understanding of the legal sector specifically and a proven track record in winning, developing, and delivering major fit out projects within it.
Reporting to the business unit lead, the appointed person will be part of the occupier fit out leadership team and will have overall responsibility for growing Turner & Townsend's service offering in the legal sector, acting as brand ambassador and creating a pipeline of opportunities.
Main Responsibilities
Project management accountabilities to include:
1. Lead on major project management commissions, taking responsibility for every aspect of service delivery in line with Turner & Townsend's governance.
2. Establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters.
3. Provide key technical, commercial advice to clients across commercial fit out projects and take responsibility for end-to-end service delivery.
4. Ensure that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.
5. Lead on compliance for quality, safety, health, and environment issues on project commissions.
6. Lead on establishing effective project governance, processes, and systems to be utilised throughout project.
7. Embrace and work in a digital project management environment.
8. Full compliance with all policies, legislation, regulations, and procedures.
9. Lead on project planning, including producing the detailed project plan.
10. Lead on advising upon the procurement of resources.
11. Lead and facilitate the overall cross-functional project team.
12. Lead on the application and monitoring of performance management techniques.
13. Lead and advise on contract administration processes, claims resolution, and disputes.
14. Manage the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications.
15. Senior quality assurance / preparation of formal project progress and other reports which may be required.
16. Take a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants at all stages of the project.
Marketing and business development accountabilities to include:
1. Manage key client accounts and win new business through organic growth and referral opportunities.
2. Identify and lead opportunities to develop new business with existing and new clients.
3. Identify and lead ways in which project management products and services can be improved and developing service propositions to take to market.
4. Lead on bids and in the production of bid documentation.
5. Understand the Turner & Townsend philosophy and identify cross-divisional opportunities.
6. Ensure that marketing collateral is kept up to date on our internal systems.
Internal management accountabilities to include:
1. Governance: Ensuring Turner & Townsend's governance and processes are adhered to in the management of the business' operations and project delivery.
2. Capability: Identify, manage, coach, and mentor talent to realise their potential, celebrating the success of others and identifying skills gaps in the team.
3. Financial management: Ensuring prompt client invoicing, monitoring a project's financial status, leading on commercial negotiations for winning work and account management.
4. Process improvement: Identifying ways in which internal systems and processes can be improved and leading the implementation.
5. Knowledge management: Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each project is input into the Turner & Townsend internal database.
6. Collaboration: Act as a role model that drives a One Business culture, achieving great outcomes by striking the right balance for our people, clients, shareholders, and society.
Qualifications
1. Ideally professionally qualified in one of the following fields: construction, project management, engineering, quantity surveying, or architecture.
2. Proven experience in leadership roles in construction project management, ideally with a leading consultancy in a similar capacity.
3. Experience of delivering CAT A / CAT B office projects in the legal and / or financial sector.
4. Delivered and lead teams on schemes of 250,000 sqft plus.
