Stores Operative
Location: HMP Portland, 104 Grove Rd, Grove, Portland DT5 1DL
Salary: £27,945.35 per annum
Contract: Permanent, 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
We are seeking an experienced Stores Operative to join our team at HMP Portland, a prison and young offender institution (YOI) on the Isle of Portland, Dorset, for men aged 18 and over.

HMP YOI Portland runs like a self-contained town within Portland; it takes hundreds of people to keep it functioning. As the Facilities Maintenance Team, we are committed to driving the smooth and safe operation. Everything we do impacts every prisoner, employee, visitor, and the wider families and community.
As a Stores Operative, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues, including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a safe and secure environment for all.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Fork Lift Truck Certificate
2. Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
3. Full driving license, preferably with D1
4. HGV Licence
5. Up to date First Aid at Work Qualification
6. Good Health & Safety knowledge
7. Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills
