This an exciting opportunity for an experienced operational manager to join our team in the key leadership role of Service Manager for Pharmacy. Reporting to the Pharmacy General Manager, you will continue to develop service delivery for the benefit of our patients and support the development of business opportunities with external stakeholders and retailers. You will contribute to the delivery and implementation of pharmacy's business plan and day to day operational management whilst maintaining financial performance.
Being a key member of the Pharmacy Leadership team you will ensure the achievement of a high standard service, delivery of key performance indicators and continual development and review of processes for improving productivity and efficiency while working to national and internal quality standards. You will be required to travel to both our hospital acute sites in the working week.
You will be responsible for leading and managing the pharmacy IT systems administrators and the pharmacy administration team. Previous experience of working in operational NHS acute management would be highly advantageous
Main duties of the job
* Provide visible service delivery leadership to all pharmacy administrative staff and promote continual improvement in quality, performance and delivery of Trust objectives
* Lead, manage and motivate staff within pharmacy to deliver and improve services to meet the needs of the patients
* Work with the General Manager to develop the business and planning processes throughout Pharmacy to deliver services to required standards and within the available resource base

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level of equivalent demonstrable experience.
* Post graduate diploma in Management or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge and skills to Masters level through relevant experience or qualification
* Health service management qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience
* An understanding of the management of clinical services
* Project or Change management.
* Proven years' experience in any of the following; NHS waiting list management; Administration management; Customer Care; Staff supervision; Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams; Portal User
* Experience of leading on projects involving multidisciplinary staff in order to improve service delivery / performance
Knowledge
* To demonstrate an understanding of relevant legislation and targets
* NHS IT systems
