To plan, organise, run and evaluate exercise and education sessions for individuals and groups of patients with a mental health condition, both in an inpatient area and within a community setting. To assess suitability of patients group activity and progress within group where necessary. To undertake own caseload of individual patients with mental health conditions. To manage own caseload of patients by accepting direct referrals from health care professionals. To prioritise, assess, plan, run and evaluate a number of complex activities or treatment programmes for groups or individuals. Responsible for maintaining accurate treatment records and insuring data is entered on to appropriate IT system for work undertaken. To develop and deliver specialist therapeutic exercise groups, to patients referred to the mental health physiotherapy team. To develop and deliver exercise programmes to individuals where necessary, assessing, re-assessing and progressing exercises and discharging patients when treatment complete. Responsible for organising and delivering educational sessions related to the clinical area. To lead, teach, advise and demonstrate activities in own clinical area to new or less experienced employees, students or volunteers. To undertake audits and surveys necessary to work in own area and may occasionally be included in research and development projects. To ensure own development within the clinical area of mental health physiotherapy. To ensure the appropriate use/issue of therapeutic equipment.
