Job Description
What you'll be doing:
* You will be responsible for all elements of the operational management and the P&L.
* You will work with the Financial Advice Board to develop and maintain a strategic plan, translating it into operating plans to be delivered within budget.
* Collaborate with the leadership team to design and deliver the expansion of Financial Advice into additional areas of advice.
* Utilise Technology and Data to drive enhancements to the end-to-end customer journey.
* You'll manage and develop all employees in the advice teams, ensuring the right operating model, capabilities, behaviours, and succession plans are in place.
* You will define, implement, and continuously review and adapt the Advice policies and frameworks aligned to agreed strategy, as well as customer, regulatory and market developments.
* You will need to demonstrate a deep understanding of compliance, and regulatory framework, whilst practising effective risk management.
* You will be part of the board, and must carry out the duties of a Company Director, such as: Establishing the financial and strategic goals and objectives within a framework which enable risk to be assessed and managed. Overseeing the performance of the business, meeting objectives, and monitoring the reporting of the performance. And understanding the key risks in the business and overseeing that appropriate mitigation/ management strategies are in place.
* You will set the standards, and culture in Financial Advice, including understanding and meeting obligations to customers and other stakeholders both internal and external.
* Be a key contributor to open and inclusive discussions with other board members and helping to encourage an environment that fosters mutual respect and open communication.
* Define, develop, and deliver a strategy to ensure advice given to customers is appropriate, and is aligned to delivery of good customer outcomes.
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
* You must have extensive experience of delivering advice and guidance in the financial services industry, and have strong experience of relevant risk management frameworks. You will need to have experience of interpreting and applying regulatory rules to practical scenarios to meet compliant and commercially acceptable solutions.
* Have excellent knowledge of the UK financial services marketplace and experience of working within a financially regulated environment.
* Be an expert in understanding components for the delivery of high quality financial advice, with strong regulatory knowledge and experience of FCA rules and their practical application.
* A good awareness of Legal & General’s business model and competitors strategy, in particular for retirement, protection and later life lending products
* Understand the rules of risk management, especially in relation to regulatory and customer focused risks, with an awareness of wider risk profile associated with retirement and later life lending products.
* We require an exceptional communicator, with a strong vision for building and growing a market leading advice and direct business.
* Have excellent business judgement; exceptional analytical, planning, decision-making skills.
* You'll need a track record of working with senior stakeholders in large and complex organisations, with experience of influencing and challenging senior stakeholders.
* You must be a people manager, with experience of managing individuals and teams.
