Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a band 7 occupational therapist to develop services and support professional practice across the medicine footprint in occupational therapy.
The post will have opportunity to cover all areas of medicine but will initially focus on The Elderly Care Assessment Service (ECAS) and Medical Emergency Assessment unit (MEAU) in University Hospital Llandough.
Main duties of the job
* Service development and developing professional practice
* Support research and evidence based practice
* Consolidate the occupational therapy offer to the frailty pathway
* Align to the Rehabilitation Model
* Embed D2RA principles in practice
* Support the development of the occupational therapy workforce
* Support partnership working with key stakeholders
Person specification
Qualifications
* Evidence of Recognised qualification degree / equivalent in occupational therapy
* Evidence of HCPC Registration
* Evidence of learning at a higher level or experience
* Evidence of membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy
* Evidence of Masters level qualification
Experience
* Evidence of significant post registration clinical experience at a senior specialist level
* Evidence of proven clinical supervision experience
* Evidence of clinical leadership and assisting in planning and developing of an existing service
* Evidence of change management experience
* Evidence of working in an MDT
* Evidence of published work
* Evidence of advice and support to other practitioners to develop knowledge and skills
Skills
* Demonstration of advanced clinical skills within medicine
* Evidence of proven negotiating and influencing skills
* Evidence of the ability to communicate with healthcare professionals and the public including people with communication difficulty
* Evidence of effective organisation skills
* Evidence of ability to keep accurate and legible patient and people records
* Evidence of using digital technology platform/apps
* Evidence of using statistical data to influence change
