You will be a self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently with staff and customers, whilst carrying out your role accurately and sensitively.

You will join a small friendly team, who have a busy and varied role, processing applications and issuing licences for alcohol, taxis, gambling, charitable collections, scrap metal dealers and road closures. The role involves phone calls with customers, taking payments and processing and issuing licences, permits and orders. No two days are the same and you will be given support and on the job training to help you carry out a wide variety of tasks.
Who we are looking for ?
We are looking for a self-motivated, confident team player who has excellent all-round skills, able to communicate effectively with members, officers, external agencies and the public.
You will need to be proficient with Microsoft Office and training on our internal ICT systems will be given. You will also need to work within defined statutory timescales.
Knowledge of licensing would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
The role
As a Licensing Officer, you will be processing and determining licence applications, offering advice to applicants, licensees, and other stakeholders. The role also includes partnership working with external agencies. Excellent organisational skills and an ability to manage workloads in an efficient, effective manner is also required.
