THE JOB ROLE The Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining Microsoft Azure platform solutions supporting Datapharm’s vision to become the global number one provider of medicinal product information. You will form part of an architecture team that provides subject matter expertise, thought leadership and industry best practice guidance and advice across the business. As a Solution Architect, you will be working as part of the Architecture team, reporting directly to the Principal Architect. You will be accountable to the Principal Architect for the coherence of all architectural designs and technical proposals, ensuring they align with the organisation’s enterprise architecture, strategy and agreed patterns and practices. Please consider this a 12 FTC role and the successful candidate will be required to visit our office in Leatherhead two days a week. WHAT YOU’LL DO These responsibilities include some of the following: You will represent the Datapharm architecture team and its guiding vision, principles and standards. You will be a representative of the Architecture team in owning the integrity of the architectural solution for Datapharm’s products and projects. You will collaborate closely with product owners, business analysts and senior software developers to interpret business requirements and translate these into secure, scalable and effective cloud architectures. You will design and architect cloud-native applications, microservices and serverless solutions based on Azure resources configured according to company principles and standards. You will also be contributing to the definition of these standards. You will utilise industry standard patterns and practices, including the use of HL7 FHIR standards and technologies. You will develop architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans for our solutions. You will provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams throughout the solution lifecycle. You will conduct architecture reviews and provide recommendations for optimising performance, security and cost. You will collaborate with the delivery and engineering teams and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and delivery of the cloud solutions. You will stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud computing, and identify opportunities to leverage new tools and services, as much as possible. Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing strategic guidance on cloud adoption and best practices. You will be responsible for designing technical solutions that meet the non-functional requirements of the business as well as the normal project constraints of cost, time and risk. You will form part of the Architecture’s research and development activities to appraise new patterns, practices and technologies in the field of Data, AI and medicinal product information. You will be the point of contact for architectural technical issues and requirements clarification. Accountability: Accountable to the Principal Architect for the coherence of all architectural designs and technical proposals, ensuring they align with the organisation’s enterprise architecture, strategy and agreed patterns and practices. ABOUT YOU We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Experience of creating innovative solutions within a business critical and fast paced environment. Strong background in designing and implementing secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions. Expertise in Azure cloud platforms, HL7 FHIR including a deep understanding of their respective services and offerings. Strong command of architectural patterns and practices. Strong understanding of zero trust security, and compliance requirements in the cloud and the healthcare industry Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex systems and propose innovative solutions.
