Job Title Production Specialist Location(s) Mansfield (Solus) Overall Role Purpose: The Production Specialist will be part of a team responsible for Production and QC testing of the range of Delta reagents; Production of Solus diagnostic kits to fulfil requirements, including preparation of chemical reagents and assay components such as coated diagnostic microwell plates. To aid in the timely manufacture of all Solus diagnostic kits, produced in accordance with current quality standards (ISO 9001:2015). To be actively involved in Health and Safety relating to the Mansfield laboratory and production areas. This role is an entry level for an A'Level science student or recent biological science graduate looking for a career in a laboratory. Full training will be given. Key Responsibilities: Producing the range of Delta reagents and Solus diagnostic kits and assays in accordance with GMP and current quality standards Preparation of coated microwell plates including Streptavidin plates. Preparation of diagnostic reagents Completing quality-controlled forms (Batch Manufacturing Record) paperwork in their entirety in a neat and readable manner Dispensing of reagents with some heavy lifting required. To actively participate in the QC analysis of all diagnostic kits manufactured in Mansfield Packing of diagnostic kits (and microwell plates) Preparation of ‘basic’ microbiology culture media Participate in ‘basic’ microbiological techniques such as cell enumeration and ‘basic’ confirmatory tests Actively involved in maintaining a clean and tidy working environment in both the production and laboratory areas, and general ‘good housekeeping’ Actively involved in health and safety aspects of the laboratory and production areas (including helping to produce risk assessments) and ensuring others work in a ‘safe’ manner Helping with laboratory investigations in relation to customer complaints Maintaining correct storage of both raw materials and finished goods Working with software systems such as Microsoft Office, QPulse, CIM50 and SAGE Assisting R&D department in production-based activities. Qualifications and Competencies required Suitable for a science graduate or school leaver with science subjects at A’Level. Full training will be given.
