The Security Operations Centre (SOC) is a proactive and reactive cyber security monitoring team, delivering real-time triaging, alerting, and reporting to risk-adverse clients.
This SOC Engineer will primarily build security monitoring solutions using Microsoft technologies for our clients; taking design documents from the Security Architects and making that solution come to reality.
Our SOC Engineer will initially have an internal focus within the role, bringing assets into Sentinel, we are ideally expecting candidates to demonstrate prior experience regarding onboarding and configuring Syslog integrations
When required, you will be expected to implement modifications to the detection logic to prevent future occurrences of the same alerts or to minimise extraneous notifications. Additionally, the successful candidate will leverage Azure functionalities to enhance automation within the SOC, thereby promoting operational efficiencies.
We are looking for candidates having a focus on automation to deploy standard processes. Ideally candidates will draw on existing engineering experience and knowledge around Sentinel, integrations and wider Azure technologies to achieve this. As a SOC engineer, you will serve as a key point of escalation for analysts, providing insights into the context of alerts and you'll also be comfortable writing documentation that can be followed by your peers.
For this role, candidates must be comfortable liaising with clients, understanding clients concerns and requirements and pro-actively taking client requirements onboard while assuring onboarding and in life success.
Candidates will have experience in previous SOC roles and have certifications such SC-200 or AZ-500. You'll be comfortable understanding Defender suite technology deployments and experience configuring Syslog integrations. We expect the successful candidate to have an understanding of structured query languages used in SIEM products (examples: SQL, Kusto, Splunk).
The successful candidate will need to go through security clearance.
