The opportunity
Our client, a design consultancy, is seeking an experienced Principal or Senior Electrical Design/ Project Engineer that is client-facing. The successful applicant will be working on AMP 8 work for a large client of theirs.
Location: Trafford, Manchester/ Hybrid (3 days from the office and 2 from home)
Contract: Contract or staff
Salary: £50Ltd - £56.81Ltd per hour depending on experience (Outside of IR35 subject to an IR35 assessment)
Duration: 12 months
Hours per week: 40 hours per week
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
1. Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
2. Produce design calculations and drawings for the water industry.
3. Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates.
4. Direct, prepare scopes for and check output of subcontract M&E design teams.
5. Liaise with equipment suppliers and manufacturers.
6. Prepare design investigations, reports, and specifications.
7. Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and group standards.
8. Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded.
9. Estimate hours required for design packages.
10. Present and attend at meetings and design presentations.
You will have the following qualifications and experience:
1. 10 years’ relevant design experience in the water industry.
2. Significant experience in LV design.
3. Awareness of mechanical and control systems.
4. Graduate or HND in Electrical Engineering.
5. Good level of IT skills.
6. Registered with a professional body and working towards chartership.
7. Chartered engineer (preferred, not essential).
8. Experience in mechanical, hydraulic and/or control engineering.
9. Experience working with wastewater and clean water.
10. Experience in HV, ICA, LVA designs.
11. Awareness of construction methods and materials.
12. Knowledge of engineering drawing practices.
13. Various wastewater projects including pumped storage solutions, odour control units, rerouting return flows around UMON4 meters, etc.
