Cardiology Registrar and Fellow in Arrhythmia and Devices
Croydon is a busy, exciting, and diverse place to work. The borough has one of the youngest populations in London and continues to grow.
Croydon Health Services cares for local people at Croydon University Hospital, Purley Memorial Hospital, and in clinics and people’s homes across the borough.
We are a close-knit and friendly organisation where every one of our 3600 members of staff is valued. We believe that our employees are our greatest asset and empower everyone to initiate improvements in our care.
Job overview
This post offers an excellent opportunity for a trainee to further develop their skills in all aspects of cardiology, primarily focusing on the management of cardiac arrhythmia and cardiac devices. This will include protected time for training in the implantation and follow-up of simple and complex cardiac devices (ICD, CRT, and conduction system pacing).
The Complex Cardiac Devices Service commenced 12 years ago and has grown significantly into an established service with a dedicated “Devices Team” comprising doctors, cardiac physiologists, and specialist arrhythmia nurses. The post holder will be integral to delivering and supporting the ongoing expansion and development of the devices and arrhythmia services, working as part of a multidisciplinary team in a busy department.
Main duties of the job
Croydon University Hospital is a busy General Hospital, serving the population of Croydon. Most major medical and surgical specialties are represented. Croydon is situated to the south of London and has easy access to both central London and the south coast. It also offers a range of social, leisure, and shopping options, with transport links to both Gatwick and Heathrow Airport.
