What is the role?
This job is for a Senior Software Engineer (Full stack) to join our product development team, focused on building web apps. This position will have the following responsibilities:
* Web Platform Ownership: Own the building and maintenance of the backend and front end of our clinician-focused software initiatives. This is currently a react web-app using Typescript, and we want to expand it to support the monitoring of our soft-robotic hardware deployed in clinics, as well as visualise the behaviour and recovery of patients in their rehab journeys.
* Collaboration: Work with our other engineering teams and leads to build a robust tech stack that supports our android app, unity games, firmware and hardware.
* Innovation: Help drive the evolution of our stroke recovery monitoring by integrating clinical standards into the latest modern web app tech stack.
* Cross-org Engagement: Partner with product teams, clinicians, and executives to iteratively improve the user interface and data reporting features based on real-world needs.
* Scaling & Leadership: Contribute to shaping the technical roadmap with an eye toward future team leadership as the company grows.
* Quality & Security: Implement solutions that ensure the reliability and security of patient data, and that meet global software and medical regulatory standards and practices.
Requirements
* Experience: 5+ years in web development, with a solid background in designing and deploying robust applications and working with SaaS
* Technical Proficiency: Strong skills with modern web frameworks, server-side technologies, and API integrations (see technical skills for more details)
* Eye for Design: Experience in developing dashboards and products that are user friendly and easy to use, with an understanding of adaptive design implementation.
* Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and a track record of working effectively across multiple teams. Experience working with a code review process.
* Adaptability: Thrive in a dynamic start-up setting, embracing agile methodologies and evolving priorities.
Technical Skills
* React or another frontend framework such as Angular or Vue
* Cloud platforms/AWS/Azure/GCP
* Infrastructure as code (we use Pulumi)
* Working with messaging systems
* Relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL
* Non-relational databases such as DynamoDB, Cosmos, or Mongo
* Proficiency in writing and maintaining test suites
* Building and/or maintaining a SaaS platform
